LGBT ad agency receives award in public service announcement category for public service announcement starring actress Julianne Moore


DALLAS, November 28, 2006 – Dallas-based MergeMedia Group, LP, a leading marketing communications firm specializing in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) market, has been honored in the 2006 MarCom Creative Awards with a Gold Award in its public service announcement category.

MergeMedia Group received the Gold Award recognition for its public service announcement for Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) that starred Oscar-nominated actress Julianne Moore.  GLAAD is the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media advocacy group. 

The MarCom Creative Awards is an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals.  The competition is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an international organization consisting of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and freelance professionals.

Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

There were more than 5,000 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in the 2006 MarCom Creative Awards competition.
